Managers:
Please hand in your volunteer form for all parents helping!

To all softball managers, major and minor :

We have a very limited selection of smaller batting helmets. If anyone is in dire need of these, please contact Greg Tudor.

In the softball shed are 6 blue, masked helmets (one size fits most) that may be used during games. In a perfect world, 3 would go to the home team and 3 to the visitors. Again, if the world were round - these would then be returned to the shed for the next night's usage.

If any of you have additional equipment needs, please contact Greg Tudor. We can't promise that we'll have what you need, but we will certainly try to help.

** Three points of interest / emphasis :

Helmets that have any decals, paint or blemishes ARE ILLEGAL and may not be used under any circumstances. The helmet mfgs. have determined that some inks and adhesives may cause their plastics to be less durable and thus increase the risk of injury.

Already this season, we have 3 WLLL that have sustained facial injuries. Please encourage your players to wear the masked helmets.

On at least two occasions on opening night, batters turned the wrong way on an inside pitch. In an attempt to avoid a potential facial injury, batters NEED to turn toward the catcher. Please set aside some practice time to teach this "skill". You might even consider tossing tennis balls at the kids to create a "realistic" scenario.
